Couple More 9-Patches and a Not-Square Crazy Square

I’ve been on a sewing kick the past couple nights. Besides the two FrankenPatch dolls, I also made a couple more 9-patch squares for my quilt that I’m making from my inherited fabrics.

I also have several strips of 3 blocks that are waiting to be joined.

For some reason, maybe the excessive sweltering heat here for the past few weeks, but my mind wandered toward fall colors this afternoon. A dive into my fabric stash and I found five fabrics that I thought went well together. Out of each I cut a strip that was 2″ wide and between 12-18″ long.

Using up each strip, I made a crazy square. Well…it’s not really a square! But it is crazy style.

I love the look of these fabrics together.

    • Thanks! I can’t wait to get it finished, but at the same time I want to take it slow so I can really experience the beauty of all the fabrics from Grandma. I’m still undecided on if I want to make them true 9-patch and put the border/sash between each patch, or make it a full ‘patchwork’ style and just have rows and rows upon rows of pretty squares.
