Motif #41 Blanket Progress

I love motifs! Quick and easy, and a great project to work on during limited amounts of time.

Motif #41 is definitely one of my favorites so far.

I started out with this first motif:

I liked it so I added another. Then yet another:

Of course I couldn’t stop there! The last you saw my progress, the WIP looked like this:

I’ve made more progress over the past couple nights:

Doesn’t it look fun?! I can’t wait to see where the colors lead me!

Motif #138

Listed under Unusual Shapes is this beautiful Victorian looking motif (to me anyway). I pictured it in a soft rose, sage green, and cream. I could see how the colors would pull everything together and make it look old fashioned.

Somehow…it ended up purples instead! Lavender and Star Dust in Bernat Satin.

Motif 138 is probably the most difficult one from the book Beyond The Square Crochet Motifs that I have found so far. I’ve never really worked from a graph before but I definitely found the graph included with this one to be a great help to understanding the written directions.

Granted…it could be lack of a day off from work in a few weeks that made the pattern more difficult!

Now to find my rose, green, and cream yarns to make the old fashioned one!

A Glimpse…

A not so secret project – still working on the pink, green, gray scarf but I changed up the design. Again. Third design now. Or is it fourth? Haha.

Luckily L isn’t in a hurry for this scarf, she’s still enjoying the first set. And just ordered another set like the first! This time with the colors of chocolate, tan or cream, and gold.

Motif #40

While looking through the book Beyond The Square, I was keeping in the back of my mind that I’d like to try the join-as-you-go method with motifs and make either a scarf or blanket. Or whatever else comes to mind.

Motif #40 seems to be perfect for a scarf. Although I may get adventurous and make a blanket with them!
